S.T.O.P. Course:S.T.O.P. is an 8 hour defensive driving course that is designed to improve your driving habits. By completing the course successfully, you will not pay fines, will not have to appear in court, and will not have points on your license. Eligible Offenses:Speeding (not more than 19 mph over the speed limit)Failure to yield the right of way Disregarding traffic signs and signals Negligent or Careless Driving Improper turns, backing or lane changes Left of center Following too closely Overloaded front seat If your citation resulted from a non-injury accident Other waiverable traffic violations The County/City Attorney has the right to refuse or accept any individual. You also must not have participated in a S.T.O.P. Program in the last 3 years. Ineligible Offenses:Serious traffic offenses (leaving the scene of an accident, driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, careless, reckless or willful reckless driving)Parking tickets Non-waiverable traffic violations Multiple moving violations No Proof of insurance, No valid driver's license, No registration Participating in a speed competition Requirements:Register AS SOON AS POSSIBLE after receiving citation - follow instructions provided with citation.Pay the Course Registration Fee.
